Supporting our Hard 2 Recycle Partners

COVID has changed the way in which we are running our 2020 Hard 2 Recycle events, which means that some of our beloved partners aren’t able to be there with us. In order to continue supporting them and their missions, while still diverting items from the landfill, we checked in to see how the community could support them right now.

Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity ReStore

Though Asheville Area Habitat for Humanity will not be at this event collecting items for the ReStore, they are accepting donations at both Asheville and Weaverville locations. Their store hours have changed and they are only accepting donations from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays. The stores are closed to the public on Sundays and Mondays.
Additionally, their trucks are going out into the community to perform pick-ups. They are currently doing curbside or outside pick-ups only as the truck staff will not go into someone’s house. As always financial donations are most welcome.
Did you know that in 2019, they diverted 2,074 TONS from the landfill?! Your donations help them to raise funds for building houses in our area. AND – their ReUse contest is happening right now.
We are so grateful to Habitat and the ReStores for their continued partnership! Learn more at

Asheville Humane Society

“We actually run a thrift store located at 1425 Patton Ave. now, so any and all donations of things your core team doesn’t take are welcome. We have been around for nearly a year and seem to be best suited to take high end clothing, housewares, décor, working electronics and other valuable items that will raise the most money for our shelter pets! We of course will always accept pet related items, many of which are used for shelter operations, but if people have gently used pet supplies, we can likely sell it at the thrift store as well!” – Adam Cotton, Manager of Corporate and Community Partnerships
